Enter & View: Parkfield House Nursing Home

Our Enter and View visits are arranged to find out how health and social care services are being run, and make recommendations where there are areas for improvement.
The visit was carried out on Wednesday 10 December with 4 Authorised representatives. It was announced and planned in partnership with the home.

Enter and View is a statutory function of every local Healthwatch. Authorised Representatives of the team carry out visits to a wide range of health and social care services to understand how they are operating and to highlight areas for improvement. Under the Health and Social Care Act, these representatives are permitted to observe care, speak with service users, their families and carers, and visit settings such as hospitals, care homes, GP practices, dental surgeries, opticians and pharmacies.

Enter and View visits can happen if people tell us there is a problem with the service but, equally, they can occur when services have a good reputation - so we can learn about and share examples of good practice from the perspective of people who experience the service first hand.

Our team at Healthwatch Hillingdon carried out an Enter and View visit to Parkfield House Nursing Home, detailed in the report.

Parkfield House Nursing Home provides care for older adults, including residential care, nursing care, dementia residential care and dementia nursing care. The home has 39 rooms, including 6 palliative beds, and is registered for a maximum of 44 residents.
