Healthwatch Hillingdon has launched a report on the ‘patient experience’ of the decommissioning of lower back pain procedures in the borough.
Following approval by the eight North West London Clinical Commissioning Groups of two new policies for the management of low back pain in 2017, acupuncture and several spinal injection treatments were decommissioned.
The report sets out the feedback Healthwatch Hillingdon gathered from patients who contacted us following the decision. As a result of this, we made several recommendations for commissioners and service providers to consider with regard to the processes around implementing service change.
